From 16 to 21 January 2011 at the International Conference Centre in Geneva the second Geneva Time Exhibitions was pursued. The independent watch brands presented their original and creative work to the public during the exhibition.
However as the first, Organizers of the Second Geneva Time Exhibitions were Florence Noel (a specialist in communication luxury brands) and Dominic Frankin (organizer of exhibitions and events). Famous auction house Christie’s was a partner. At a preliminary press conference the organizers said that above all they are guided by the objective to create optimal conditions for the realization of the products of the original watches by businesses, which do not belong to the world’s largest conglomerates. Thus, independent watchmakers have the opportunity to submit their Swedish watches for men and women around the world.
RGM had an excellent opportunity to present the new Pennsylvania Series of watches to the international community. “American Made” watches debuted at the Geneva Time Exhibition in January 2011. For the new Ref. 801series both the movements and the cases were made in Lancaster, PA.
RGM American Made
RGM continues to adhere to the best traditions of American time craft and they introduced the new Pennsylvania Tourbillon watch with their new flagship mechanical movement.
The Pennsylvania Tourbillon is the first produced American Tourbillon. The RGM Caliber 801 and Pennsylvania Tourbillon represent important progresses in watchmaking. These watches are not only made in the U.S.A., but also are created in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; one of the few traditional horology centers in America.
RGM Pennsylvania Tourbillon
When they designed the caliber 801, RGM wished to create a watch that was a remembrance of American watches from distant times; not only in its forms, but also in the quality of the construction. RGM wanted a watch that can outride the test of time and work as a coupe they can build upon when designing other different functions. The caliber 801 has the same hand finishing as Anglage, Perlage, and Cote de Geneve waves on the bridges have.
In addition to the new Pennsylvania Tourbillon, RGM is working on variations of the new Caliber 801 same with the 24 Hour version. RGM is also eager to share soon with the audience another landmark creation, their watches for ladies.
