I’m happy to announce the appearance of the new 2LMX Horology brand and their yet first brainchild 2LMX Ultimate Horology Watch – an amazingly sophisticated mechanical timepiece. That news made me get up early in the morning and write about it.
The model has no name yet, but I’m sure it will come soon. The former head of Patek Philippe museum in Geneva and the present director of the Art examining bureau Arnaud Tellier is the main designer and the new born 2LMX Ultimate Horology Watch. I’m not sure if he was incubating the watch design for so long but I know that he had become kin on horology since he was 7 years old. It’s so because of the creative atmosphere in which he was brought up.
Through all his working life Arnaud Tellier concerned mostly classic watch models. Thus the 2LMX Ultimate Horology Watch appearance could be regarded as a mere challenge or protest against the vintage pieces. Nevertheless the 2LMX Ultimate Horology Watch has a modern concept and overall design, including split dials, vertically mounted tourbillons, highly exposed movement and case.
More words about the movement. This indicative mechanism is able to tell time in twenty-four hour format. It is so thanks to the 4 drums (2 of the drums have drums within the drums). This system allows the watch to indicate ten digits in a limited space. But it’s better to see it for yourself on 2LMX site .
Through the different sapphire crystal windows one can easily see the tourbillon movement. The 2LMX watch movement has 120 hours power reserve and is wounded manually. A special slick constant force system allows to change the drums without losing amplitude. It is just amazing.
The 2LMX Ultimate Horology Watch case has 41mm in width and 50mm in height. This watch is for a rather large wrist. The variety of case material makes the watch model attractive for different tastes. The watches are produced in platinum, titanium, pink and white gold. You can also choose the desired strap: white, black rubber, leather or alligator. In 2012 the custom made models would also be available but the price is still unknown.
