One of the famous achievements that’s ascribed to Girard-Perregaux watches is the creation of an unusual pocket watch in 1860s, known as Girard-Perregaux Tourbillon with three gold Bridges. It was the predecessor of another masterpiece to appear the new vintage Girard Perregaux watches named Vintage 1945 Tourbillon Three Gold Bridges. Deservedly the unique rarity timepiece was granted a first-class prize at Neuchâtel Observatory for using 3 parallel nickel-plated bridges in its design. Whereas the usage of gold was yet to come along with sharper appearance of the bridges in the shape of arrows.
The Girard-Perregaux limited edition Vintage 1945 Tourbillon approached the heritage from a different angle with more modern techniques. The bridges boast contemporary geometry in shape in addition with rhodium-plated skeleton. Therefore, the preparation of this perfect construction requires over a week’s meticulous work. Firstly, they are hollowed, then neatly hand-polished to achieve a great visual effect.
Another feature that deserves special attention is its 72 components which are well assembled within a 12 mm diameter. The rectangular case shape, inspired by an Art Deco style watch of 1945, also adds certain vintage style to this timepiece. It perfectly matches with the wrist through its convex form and reasonably matched crown. Made of sapphire glass the back of the white gold case shows a fine Haute Horlogerie finish of the Calibre 9600C. Moreover, the Girard Perregaux Vintage 1945 Tourbillon watch is supplied with an automatic calibre which reveals the advantageous architecture of the movement.
The new Girard Perregaux Vintage 1945 Tourbillon watch with three Gold Bridges available in limited edition of 50 pieces and every piece has individual hand-engraving number.
