From 1985 the contemporary art Saatchi Gallery in Britain is known to evince young yet unknown artist and odd art concept pieces. In this article I want to recite about one of the unusual pieces from Graham London watch brand, which was recently presented in British Saatchi Gallery.
Swordfish Booster Iris chameleon watch is an unusual rainbow-effect timepiece presented for the first time to the audience at the prestigious Saatchi Gallery. The exclusively developed for Graham London chameleon effect makes Swordfish Booster Iris chameleon watch unique and pretty awesome. This effect is obtained thanks to so called “nanometer-scale coating”: a sophisticated composition of oxide layers makes the surface change colors under reflected light.
As for the rest Swordfish Booster Iris chameleon watch is a completely automatic 2-compax chronograph with two portholes at 3 and 9 o’clock (30 minutes, 12 hours and seconds counter). The watch power reserve is 48 hours. Swordfish Booster timepiece is equipped by the Calibre G1710 movement on 34 jewels fitted in 48 mm stainless steel 100 meters water resistant case with black PVD coating and iridescent effect.
Steel right hand control pushers of the Swordfish Booster chameleon watch features the “Clous de Paris” high grip pattern. By the way, watch bezel and the pushers also have the same interferential substrate treatment.
The pure black mother-of-pearl dial is also in harmony with the chameleon effect, but in a more natural way of course. Integrated green crocodile strap with the black ceramic pin buckle perfectly fits the watch case color. The watch also has 2 black snailed counters (the one for minutes, another – for hours), which are magnified by 15%.
Taking all into account the Swordfish Booster Iris chameleon watch price $16,500 USD seems to be reasonable though.
