Baselworld fair of luxurious timepieces each year attracts thousands of people. This year was at Baselworld 2012 first of all characterized by the presentation of the Hublot 5 million dollar watch incrusted with over thousand diamonds, collected from all over the world, whose total weight exceeds 100 carats. The distinctive feature of this jewellery masterpiece is that it is made up of differently shaped stones. The previous expensive watch made by Hublot was 2 Million Euro Hublot Big Bang.
It should be noted that before elaborating a new Hublot diamond watch, experienced watchmakers usually first choose the purest stones of a certain shape before considering a particular watch-design which can fully accentuate the natural beauty of the stones. But this time, creating a $5 Million Watch, Hublot watchmakers have done quite a different thing: they elaborated the design of the watch before choosing diamonds of appropriate shape and colour.
Several watch specialists have been working on the watch for 14 months, cutting and choosing diamonds, before adding a final touch to their creation. All the selected diamonds have a highest grade of purity and embedded into 40mm 18 carat white gold case, the bracelet is also encrusted with over 782 rectangular diamonds. This expensive watch equipped with self-winding movement (HUB 1100) with power reserve up to 42 hours.
Shortly after the exhibition, Hublot 5 Million Dollar Watch – one of the most expensive timepieces in the world has been sold to The Hour Glass, a well-known exquisite jewellery retailer in Asia whose head office is located in Singapore. At the moment the watch is displayed to a wide audience.
